The U.S. MD. Now Within Reach for International Students.

We’d love to connect, introduce you to Western Atlantic University School of Medicine (WAUSM), and explore how we can work together to expand access to medical education worldwide.

100%

100%

100%

The Opportunity

The U.S. MD. Now Within Reach for International Students.

For international students, the path to a U.S. medical degree has never been easy. International students make up less than 1% of MD program enrollment in the United States and Canada and the U.K. caps international medical enrollment at just 7.55%. The doors are narrow, and the competition is fierce.

WAUSM is changing that.

With a U.S. MD curriculum, clinical rotations at American teaching hospitals, and a proven residency placement record, WAUSM gives qualified international students a genuine, accredited path to practicing medicine in the United States.

Post-Baccalaureate Students

4-Year MD Program

A U.S.-recognized Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree delivered by former deans and senior leaders of established U.S. and international medical schools. Students learn in small groups at a 7:1 student-to-faculty ratio, with United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), U.S. and Canadian residency Match, and career preparation and dedicated advising built into every step.

Key Facts

For Pre-Med Advisors

If your students are weighing Caribbean schools or international MBBS programs, WAUSM offers the outcomes, support structure, and U.S. clinical access that sets it apart. We welcome formal advisor partnerships and campus visits.

For Government Officials and Recruitment Partners

WAUSM provides the full network international students need – visa guidance, community programming, USMLE prep, and residency support – to succeed and launch medical careers in the United States.

High Achieving High School Graduates

6-Year Accelerated Pathway to MD (APMD)

International students make up less than 1% of MD program enrollment in the U.S. and Canada. The APMD was built to change that.

Students spend two years earning their bachelor’s at a WAUSM university partner in the United States, then flow directly into WAUSM’s four-year MD Program. No gap years. No reapplication. A clear, structured road to two U.S. recognized degrees – a bachelor’s degree and an MD – in just six years.

For Recruitment Agents

With U.S. and Canadian MD programs enrolling less than 1% international students, and the U.K. capping international medical enrollment at 7.55%, the APMD is a rare, accredited alternative with real U.S. residency access. A strong addition to any portfolio.
