This commencement ceremony marks the graduation of WAUSM’s first-ever class of physicians – a milestone not only for our graduates, but for the entire WAUSM community. Together, we celebrate years of dedication, sacrifice, and determination, and the realization of a bold vision for medical education.

2026 Commencement Speaker

WAUSM is honored to welcome Dennis Deveaux as its 2026 Commencement Speaker. Mr. Deveaux is the Chief Executive Officer of Doctors Hospital Health System in The Bahamas, bringing decades of leadership experience across healthcare, global finance, strategic planning, and analytics.

Since joining Doctors Hospital Health System in 2018, Mr. Deveaux has been instrumental in expanding access to care across The Bahamas, leading initiatives that extended services throughout New Providence, Exuma, the Northern Bahamas, and Grand Bahama. His leadership has supported the establishment of new outpatient clinics, the acquisition of The Kidney Centre Limited, and the development of a new 25-bed hospital scheduled to open in 2026.

Known for his collaborative leadership style, operational expertise, and commitment to innovation, Mr. Deveaux exemplifies the values of service, resilience, and forward-thinking leadership that resonate deeply with WAUSM’s graduating class.
