A native of Grand Bahama, Dr. Joretta Roberts-Carey has 16 years of experience in science education through all levels. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biology at Howard University in 2003. She attended medical school at the American University of Antigua (basic sciences) and AIMU, St. Lucia (clinical sciences). She is also an alumna of the United States Embassy’s Academy of Women Entrepreneurs. As an advocate for STEM education, she serves as host of the talk show Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead and works closely with other science-based organizations to promote the engagement, recognition, and pursuit of these subjects in persons of all ages. For the past six years, Dr. Roberts-Carey has enjoyed lecturing at local higher education institutions in nursing and allied health sciences programs with emphasis on practical skills application and interactive learning modules. In these roles, she has promoted patient education and community involvement among students.
