The itinerary

Day One

Thursday, July 30 – Fort Lauderdale Centric Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale

The group meets at the Hyatt Centric Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale for dinner and a WAUSM presentation. A relaxed start: get oriented, meet fellow prospective students, and hear from our admissions team before the main event.

Day Two

Friday, July 31 – Freeport, Grand Bahama

The group boards a private charter from Fort Lauderdale to our pre-clerkship campus in Freeport for a full day. The day includes:

  • Full campus tour
  • Time in the simulation center and classrooms
  • Conversations with key faculty who would be central to your MD journey at WAUSM
  • Time with current students
  • A look at student housing and life in Grand Bahama
  • Lunch on campus

The group returns to Fort Lauderdale by approximately 5:00 p.m.

For those who need to arrive Wednesday evening, WAUSM has arranged a discounted hotel rate at the Hyatt Centric Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale. Book your room with the group rate here. The room reservation cut off date is July 15.

Up to one guest is permitted to attend with advance approval; however, guest travel costs are the attendee’s responsibility.

About the MD Program

WAUSM’s curriculum was built from the ground up to promote student success. Flipped classroom learning develops clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills early, so students are thinking like physicians well before they reach the wards. Career advising begins during Welcome Week and continues through all four years, providing developmentally aligned guidance at every stage of the journey from enrollment to specialty match.

Every student who participated in the 2026 residency placement cycle matched through NRMP and CaRMS. Our students hold a 100 percent first-time pass rate on USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 as of July 1, 2025, and a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the externally evaluated OSCE.

The faculty you will meet are not administrators or recruiters. They are the professors, advisors, and mentors who work with WAUSM students every day, from the first week of classes through match day. Getting real time with them before committing to a program is rare, and it is one of the more valuable parts of the day.
