Grants and scholarships
These are awards provided by outside organizations and agencies. Students are encouraged to:
- Search reputable scholarship platforms such as:
- Network with undergraduate schools, church and other local organizations, foundations, parents’ employers, and hospitals
- Qualified applicants may be considered for institutional scholarships, including opportunities for Bahamian and Canadian students and competitive merit-based funding for incoming students.
Scholarship eligibility varies by provider.
US Citizens & Permanent Residents
Private Student Loans
Private student loans are credit-based loans offered by various lending institutions. WAUSM maintains relationships with several external financing organizations that offer loan programs tailored to medical students. These options are discussed directly with students during financial advising to ensure individualized guidance.

Canadian Students
Admitted students from Canada have several financial assistance options available.

- Each province or territory establishes its own eligibility and institutional designation criteria
- Students must apply directly through their province or territory
