Core Rotations
WAUSM’s core clerkship program is offered at three partner hospitals: in the United States at Saint Anthony Hospital and Insight Hospital & Medical Center in Chicago, and in The Bahamas at Doctors Hospital in Nassau.
At both Saint Anthony Hospital and Insight Hospital & Medical Center, students benefit from a tracked clerkship program that enables them to complete all six core rotations at a single location. This integrated approach fosters a cohesive learning experience and prepares students to actively engage in patient care.
Offering a dynamic, international healthcare experience, Doctors Hospital currently provides WAUSM students with the opportunity to complete two core rotations: Internal Medicine and Surgery.

Saint Anthony Hospital
Saint Anthony Hospital offers WAUSM students the opportunity to train in a vibrant, community-focused healthcare setting. Through its innovative partnership with AMOpportunities, the hospital welcomes top medical students from around the world for hands-on clinical rotations across a wide range of specialties. Students are integrated into care teams and gain valuable experience working with diverse patient populations in a fast-paced urban environment. With a strong commitment to education and service, Saint Anthony Hospital provides an ideal setting to sharpen clinical skills while making a meaningful impact.

Insight Hospital & Medical Center
Insight Hospital & Medical Center offers WAUSM students access to a variety of hands-on rotations across key specialties, allowing students to work closely with experienced physicians in a diverse, urban healthcare setting. The hospital’s commitment to community-focused care and medical education creates an ideal environment for students to apply their knowledge, build clinical confidence, and gain exposure to the US healthcare system.

Doctors Hospital
Doctors Hospital offers WAUSM students a dynamic and supportive environment for clinical training. As the country’s only private hospital accredited by Joint Commission International, it provides exposure to a wide range of medical specialties and patient cases. Students become part of a collaborative care team, working alongside experienced physicians and healthcare professionals. With its strong focus on patient-centered care and clinical excellence, Doctors Hospital is an ideal place to apply classroom knowledge to real-world medical practice.
Elective Rotations
Students in their final year can complete elective rotations at hospitals across the United States or internationally, whether affiliated or non-affiliated, with prior approval. Electives offer a valuable chance to gain hands-on experience in diverse clinical settings in the specialty in which a student has the most interest. When considering hospitals for elective rotations, it is advisable for students to consider those where they may also apply for residency. This strategic choice offers valuable exposure to the hospital’s clinical environment and culture, while also creating opportunities to build relationships with influential faculty and decision-makers.
In addition to Saint Anthony Hospital and Insight Hospital & Medical Center, WAUSM has officially partnered with the following teaching hospitals for students to pursue elective rotations:

Kern Medical
Kern Medical in Bakersfield, California, offers WAUSM fourth-year students a wide range of elective rotations designed to deepen clinical expertise and explore potential residency pathways. With specialties spanning from emergency medicine and general surgery to psychiatry and OB/GYN, students gain hands-on experience in a high-acuity hospital setting. These electives provide the chance to work closely with board-certified physicians, engage in clinical research, and demonstrate skills to faculty and residency program directors.

Kingman Regional Medical Center
Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) in Kingman, AZ, offers 4th-year WAUSM students a wide range of elective rotations. The largest healthcare provider in northwest Arizona, KRMC holds the distinction of being Arizona’s first rural teaching hospital, offering residency training programs in both family medicine and emergency medicine. Its commitment to advanced, specialized care makes it a model for rural healthcare innovation and an exceptional environment for clinical learning.
As WAUSM’s student body continues to grow, we are keeping pace and will continue to expand our core and elective clinical partnerships with additional teaching hospitals.
