Dr. Joseph Chu, MD, MPH, is a physician, epidemiologist, and academic leader with extensive experience in medical education and institutional leadership. He served as President of Saba University School of Medicine and Chief Academic Officer of R3 Education, Inc., positions he held from 2008 to 2023, where he led strategic academic initiatives and institutional development. Dr. Chu held senior academic and administrative roles at several institutions, including Ross University School of Medicine, Bastyr University, Indiana University School of Medicine, and the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he served as Assistant Dean for Curriculum and faculty member in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Epidemiology. A graduate of Kenyon College, Georgetown University School of Medicine, and the University of Washington School of Public Health, Dr. Chu has contributed extensively to research in women’s health, cancer epidemiology, and medical education, authoring numerous peer-reviewed publications. His career has been marked by leadership in curriculum development, medical education policy, and the advancement of physician training.
