Hayley Derricott, PhD

Dr. Derricott holds a BSc in Anatomical Sciences and PhD in human development, both from the University of Manchester, UK. She comes to WAUSM from Queen Mary, University of London’s medical school in Gozo, where she was a Senior Lecturer in Anatomy. With more than 15 years of teaching experience, Dr. Derricott participates in numerous formats of delivery: from small group, case-based tutorials to large group active learning sessions. As an anatomist, much of her teaching involves demonstrating complex 3D information from a macroscopic, microscopic or developmental perspective. She is passionate about providing the best quality learning experience for all her students. A member of the Higher Education Academy, Institute for Anatomical Sciences, and American Association of Clinical Anatomists, Dr. Derricott has been published in numerous scholarly journals including Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and the American Journal of Pathology. She also regularly acts as a peer reviewer, and has recently begun working with WAUSM students to author articles for StatPearls.
