Dr. Cox earned his MD from Charles University First Faculty of Medicine in Prague, Czech Republic. Following medical school, he also pursued his PhD under the supervision of Prof Inke Näthke at the University of Dundee School of Life Sciences. Dr. Cox’s thesis ‘The Detection of Gastrointestinal Inflammation with Microultrasound and the Feasibility of Ultrasound Capsule Endoscopy’ studied the application of high-resolution microultrasound in capsule endoscopy for the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal disorders. He was awarded his PhD in Medicine in November 2021. Dr. Cox has been published in numerous scholarly journals, including Science Robotics, Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology, and Circulation. Dr. Cox has since lectured on numerous medical and biomedical engineering subjects from undergraduate to post-graduate level including teaching at Saba University School of Medicine. In addition to teaching at WAUSM, Dr. Cox has been appointed to the Research & Scholarship Committee
