A diplomate of the American Board of Medical Microbiology, Dr. Sloma holds a PhD in immunology and post-doctoral fellowship in medical microbiology from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, respectively. She comes to WAUSM from Wyoming Public Health Laboratory in Cheyenne, WY, where she was laboratory director in charge of overseeing all activities of the Chemical Testing, Microbiology, and Preparedness Laboratory programs. Dr. Sloma has taught at several national and international institutions, including Becker Professional Education and Ross University School of Medicine and has a passion for helping her students achieve success. Her research has been published in various journals including the Journal of Clinical Microbiology and the Journal of Immunology. She is a member of the Association of Public Health Laboratories, the APHL Public Health Preparedness and Response Committee, and the APHL Viral Hepatitis and HIV Subcommittee.
