Alina Beyer, MD, LLM
Director of Simulation and Associate Professor, Clinical Medicine, Department of Medical Education
Dr. Beyer received her MD from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacology in Romania where she ranked first among her graduating class. She also holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB), a Master of Laws (LLM) with a specialization in commercial law, and a postgraduate diploma in higher education for health professionals, all from the University of Cape Town. Her professional experience spans over 30 years and includes being chief medical officer of Days Hospitals and Victoria Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa; a postdoctoral research associate at St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital, University of Tennessee College of Medicine; and a pediatric physician at the Red Cross Memorial Children’s Hospital, also in Cape Town. She comes to WAUSM from Ross University School of Medicine where she held several positions, including associate professor of medicine in the Department of Clinical Foundations; and co-director, Renal Module.
